Omanu Beach Surf Life Saving Clubs is the largest Surf Life Saving Club in the Bay of Plenty. Omanu SLSC membership base exceeds 700 financial members including competitors, patrolling members, people involved with sponsorship, junior surf and other 'non'-active affiliates. 2011 Bay of Plenty Club of the Year - co-winner with Mt Maunganui LGS 2012 Bay of Plenty/Coromandel Patrol Club of the Year - co-winner with Papamoa SLSC 2015 Bay of Plenty Awards of Excellence - Patrol Club of the Year 2015 & 2017 Bay of Plenty / Coromandel Awards of Excellence - BOP Overall Club of the Year
